Nov/Dec Holiday Potluck

Post by krisw »

Our next meeting is on December 6th at Michael Barber's house in Reston, VA. Like we do every year, our final meeting of the year is a potluck and social. We will conduct an auction and have a few announcements, but otherwise, the meeting is yours to socialize and talk plants.

Since it is a potluck, we need everyone to mention what food they're bringing. Michael and GWAPA are providing sodas, a spiral cut ham, and plates/utensils/etc. So, we need to provide the sides and desserts to go with.

I'm looking forward to celebrating a great year while enjoying some good food with all of you.

I'll see if I can beg the better half for those chocolate chip and chocolate chocolate chunk cookies that no one seemed to like last year. ;)

I think I'll bring your standard holiday green bean casserole.

Damien, just bring whatever you're comfortable with. The idea is to get a good variety so there's something for everyone.

Are there any food restrictions for anyone?

Don't ask me to eat peas. I've never liked them.
Bob

You never know what you're going to find, or where you're going to find it. So keep looking.

Bob,

You can sneak the peas to Hermoine - she loves peas.

I think I remember last year Ghazanfar requested that if anything contained pork or pork products to let him know. I don't know if anyone else has any food restrictions or allergy concerns.

I've been to some potlucks where people listed the ingredients of what they brought, just in case. (Obviously, this would not be necessary with some things --for instance, a ham clearly contains pork, something with cheese all over it clearly contains dairy :) )

Just kidding...lol. yes, I would really appreciate it if you'd let me know if something contained pork / bacon / you know what I mean.
