Inline pump
Inline pump
If I wanted to plumb my CO2 reactor inline with an external pump would this pump work? http://www.bigalsonline.com/catalog/pro ... 181;pcid2=
I have it inline with my canister filter but want to take it off the filter and just use a pump to help cirrculate water and run the reactor.
I assume I am looking for a pump that says suitable for a protein skimmer.
Thanks

how would I attach the intake to this pump. Or cant I? This one looks like it has to be submersed

Thanks for the help
I am not going filterless, thinking of adding some flow and using this to run my reactor. After seeing Ghazanfar setup inspired me. Plus I am not sure how will my reactor is working. I get a few bubbles out of the spray bar, this is usually happening in the evening. I have the bubble set to about 1.5bps on my 55 and CO2 aroun 24ppm
As far as head goes do you measure where the pump would be in relation to the tank or how many feet of tube that you have the water running through

Head is the difference between the level of the pump and the height of the tube as it goes over the edge of the tank. This is also compunded by the number of turns the water has to take after the pump. The more elbows you use, the more 'effective head' you have. Most 'dual' pumps (external and submersible) I would not trust as an external pump. I like the quiet one pumps in my sump set ups.
