Heathers for big tanks

hey everyone!! how is it going??? I renewed my membership last year and bam! covid.. LOL
I hope everyone is well and safe.
I need a new heater for my 75, I hear rumors that most heaters are crap nowadays.. any suggestions for something to last me at least a few years?

My recommendation would probably be Fluval, Cobalt or Eheim, size appropriate for your tank, although I have been looking at a version from AQQA.

I just bought 3 new Eheim heaters and I'm not impressed. The temps are all wrong. I also have had a lot of them fail after a few years.

If you want to go inline, then listen to the guys with in-line heaters.

I like pairing an Eheim Jaeger with an inkbird controller. In a 75 gallon, personally, I would use 2 heaters plugged into one of the "heat only" controllers, of a wattage that adds up to what you'd want for a 75 gallon. This builds in a few "safety redundancies." Unlike the Cobalts, Jaegers don't melt or explode (been there, done that, not pretty). Jaegers let you set a temperature and can be roughly calibrated, that's safety number 1. If one heater malfunctions, it's wattage probably won't be high enough to quickly overheat the tank. If both heaters get too warm, the controller shuts them off. The controller shutting them off also helps preserve the mechanism in the Jaegers that allows them to shut themselves off.

I've had cobalt melt; yes not pretty.

What have folks heard about Oase? I like being able to integrate the heater in to the filter, and a quick clean option for the pre-filter. (George Farmer has been promoting it heavily)
