Lots of Buces!

Post by swmnwdafishes »

I got some in the last meeting's auction from Ghazanfar. Then I ordered some more from Buceplant.com. (This might end up being half review.)

I bought 11 varieties for about $70/inc. 2 day shipping. The website claimed to have 10+ leaves per rhizome cutting. I didn't count them, but I was happy with what they sent. I got my 11 plants plus they threw in 2 free plants of a variety I didn't order.

The only thing I didn't like is that they shipped them in 3 mil zip baggies and kinda compressed them. When I opened them up, some were actually 2 or 3 pieces intertwined or a rhizome big enough to be divided into 2 or 3 plants. All in all, I ended up with 35 pieces, plus about 6 inches of leafless rhizome from my order and 10 plants and 8 inches of leafless rhizome from Ghazanfar. I highly recommend both Ghazanfar and Buceplant.com's bucephalandras.

I'm kinda indecisive about where my plants are and in which tank they should go. I don't have any aquascaped tanks persay. They're all farm tanks. When the plants get overgrown, I trim and/or move them.
So I spent half a day trimming and delicately tying the buces to rocks so I didn't have to permanently locate them.

You could also use gel superglue to attach plants to rocks or wood.

Is your farm tank submersed or emersed?
