LED Light Fixture Suggestions

Post by Skanda »

Hi Everyone,

My Finnex 27/7 light fixture burnt out in less than 1 year. Paid $150 for it to go out after 1 year crap! I did not have a warranty.

I am looking for another light fixture to grow low light plants for a west African setup. I have a 75 gallon with Anubias, bolbitis, and java moss.

I am looking at reviews from for something like a Beamsworks or Current USA fixtures. I have looked at the following models. Can someone please advise if these light fixtures are adequate to grow low light plants in a 75 gallon tank? Has anyone have any experience with these?

Thanks

If you were happy with the light output of the Finnex, the more comparable light is the Current USA Satellite+ PRO:

Of course that's twice the price of the Finnex (you get what you pay for). For lower light (and price) than the Finnex, the Satellite+:

For PAR data to compare the two:

For more comparison of the Satellite fixture vs. the Finnex 24/7, see:

One other that's a very good option is the Fluval Plant 2.0

Some folks may chastise me for saying this but For low-light applications (Anubias, bolbitis, java moss...), the beamsworks are a lot of bang for the buck. I've had several for a few years without issues.

Go with Current from an authorised dealer. They come with a 1 yr warranty and are easy to work with of any part of the light fails. They even warranty the refurbished ones for 90 days. They sell refurbished on ebay.
