blyxa japanica
blyxa japanica
I recently moved some healthy blyxa to a newly set up tank and it is doing very poorly. The center of the plant is turning white and pink. I am wondering if my lighting is too intense. Any one know if blyxa is sensitive to bright lights? It has only been in the new tank about a week so it is hard for me to believe it is a nutrient deficiency. Any thoughts?
Re: blyxa japanica
Forgot to mention that as well as changing colors the plants newer leaves are all twisted and scraggly Looking.

It does well in high light, but needs liquid fertilization regularly. A comprehensive fertilizer like Flourish and a bit of iron should make it very happy.

Agree with Cristy. Sounds like it's starving for micros....

Dosed plantex csm+b as well as a little N and K and plants have all bounced back. I knew that blyxa needed liquid ferts but I did not realize that they would need them so soon after transferring to the new tank. Thanks for the help.
