Hi Friends,
I had a great time seeing you all at Eugen's place this past Saturday. I hope I can visit the GWAPA table at Aquamania next weekend. I need your feedback on the equipment I am thinking of getting for a low-tech RCS shrimp tank.
Filter: Aquaclear 20
Plants: All Java Moss
Substrate: Eco-complete
Light:?
For lighting, I just need something low-med that will grow the java moss, with the option to grow different plants in the future. Perhaps I will be bold and build my own?
Thanks everyone!

Re: Equipment for 10G Shrimp Tank...
George, what size tank is your RCS tank? In terms of lighting, almost any amount of light will grow java moss, so you're options are virtually unlimited there. The trick is not to go too high, if all you have is moss, or you'll end up with moss and algae. Obviously, based on your requirements of options, a great option would be a dimmable LED fixture that you can run low-light now, and then dial up to med/high light in the future. Whether you build or buy is up to you.

Will the moss be scaped or is this simply a cherry shrimp grow out tank? If the latter you could skip the substrate altogether.
It's hard to find a commercial light to fit a 10 gallon tank. My vote is to build one too. You'd only need 6 or so LEDs and even then you could turn them down.
