Twinstar Nano - Algae Inhibiter

Has anyone heard of or used this device to control green algae?

I know George Farmer tried it, and was pleased with the results. I've read that it may produce ozone to kill the algae, but not sure if that's accurate, or what other effects that might have...

No harm in asking them -- I wish they'd publish want they're injecting in the aquarium though...

It's likely an ozone generator. You might be better off just getting an ozone generator from a reputable company. At least then you'll know what it is.

I think ozone is bad for the animals. At least I know that in saltwater tanks you're required to remove it before it returns to the tank.

A bizarre product, if you ask me. According to their web site, if your tank already has algae, you’re out of luck. As it says, “If you want to install Twinstar in your existing aquarium please remove the green algae completely and change more than 30% of the water.” So the only claim they seem to be making is is you have a pristine aquarium with no algae, then this will keep it algae free—as long as you have algae eating fish and shrimp! It doesn’t sound like a product I would pay much for.
