Is this the sequel to "The Concrete Jungle", "The Glass Ocean" ?

Aquascape? I'm a crypt farmer.

If you've got bait, I've got wasabi!

I wish I could be like Mr. Sarcastic when I grow up! ;)

Cautiously. Slowly getting things lined up for a redo. Still need to figure out the substrate. Is that grey turface still around?

I saw Turface at Wolf Trap Nursery on route 7 just west of Tyson's a few months ago... did it come in different colors? I didn't look closely at it, just noticed it sitting in the corner.

No, the grey one isn't around that I know of. Same with Soilmaster.

Done with Aquasoil?

Aquasoil in the big tank just doesnt work unless you have an army of minions to keep swapping it out and a warehouse full of it.
I'm tempted to just use sand - and just use epiphytes - forget planting anything in the substrate itself. Less to maintain.

Everybody says you can't grow plants in sand. I beg to differ (and have proof). I rarely (and by rarely I mean maybe once a month if I remember) dose liquids in my 10g and it has moderate light. I think I might have put some root tabs in it at some point over the last 4 years it's been running and I've got a nice stand of c. lutea that's spread out, some short sword (I think 'tropica'?) that does fine (stays short, which is a-ok by me), hygro 'bold' grows anywhere, and have actually had a rotala and Oldenlandia salzmannii do what they're supposed to. Anything I've tried has at least survived (and a click above "struggled" even). Bonus is you don't have to trim every 30 seconds. :)

But that's me. Take it with a grain of, sand? Lol (couldn't resist)
