Low-maintenance foreground plant

Post by sns26 »

As I mentioned in my post about liquid micros, I'm cleaning up my tank, which means I need some stuff to fill out the bare patches...

I've grown hemianthus and glosso successfully in this tank, and they look great, but they are a pain to deal with. If I don't trim constantly, they overgrow themselves and make a mess. Boo hoo, my plants grow too well. So what I'm looking for is something that will do a decent job of carpeting the foreground without requiring constant care. Like a small crypt maybe? Parva?

And if you recommend it...do you have any?

Marsilea species (minuta, quadrifolia) would work well. Or maybe Lilaeopsis chinensis. I can give you chinensis if you'd like or a small amount of Marsilea quadrifolia.

Crypt parva is the slowest growing foreground ever. It is great once you have it ... the question is how patient are you ?

I would second the marsilea recommendation. I have quadrifolia I could pass along.
