Re: LED lighting...Huh?
I am reading a lot about LED and from what I've seen so far convinces me that it probably would be a good investment. It is just that it sticks in my craw that I would not be able to light my 120 and would have to settle for a tiny tank. Geez.

We will have an LED presentation probably at the June meeting, by the way.

Why couldn't you light your 120 with LEDs?FrannyB wrote:I am reading a lot about LED and from what I've seen so far convinces me that it probably would be a good investment. It is just that it sticks in my craw that I would not be able to light my 120 and would have to settle for a tiny tank. Geez.

Re: LED lighting...Huh?
Have you noticed how expensive it would be to cover the entire footprint of a 24" deep tank end to end?
Re: LED lighting...Huh?
Probably about the same cost as doing it with TEK T5HO fixtures...
Re: LED lighting...Huh?
You can get cheap Chinese made LEDS in 30w and 50w, that's per LED so it can be done without a major expense. If you buy one retail for the 120 it's going to get pricey fast.
