I'm looking to buy a really fine white sand. Not with an ferts or nutrients in it, but just the sand. And I'm hoping to not spend a great deal for it.
Any suggestions?

Check out a pool supply store. They sell pool filter sand, usually in bright white or brown colors. Color is your choice, but that's what you want.

Re: Fine white sand?
Thanks, all. I've tried pool filter sand, and it was coarser grained than the stuff I'm using now. Maybe it's time I took another look and checked out the Lighthouse Brand that Aaron recommended. (I got the sand in my big tank from another hobbyist, and I don't have any brand/manufacturer info on it.)

I wouldn't think you would want a finer grain than pool filter sand.

Estes -- the world's biggest gravel distributor -- makes white sand that is almost like powdered sugar. Stuff's a pain in the butt -- it floats for about a week! I have it in my 92 corner. My plants actually do pretty well in it, too.
It ain't cheap, though.
