When I modded my nova extreme pro I used a potentiometer so that I could adjust the speed and the noise level. The potentiometer was around 5 bucks on ebay if I remember correctly. I also used to 2 fans to make up for the lose of air movement, and ran them almost silently. Worked great and the fans were only 9 bucks each.

Hey Cristy,

Let me know when you put in an order because I'm going to need some of these fans for my shrimp tanks in the summer and possibly for my community tank because that gets pretty warm during the summer too.

I'll have to look at the site to figure out which ones I want as the order date gets closer.
