tank recommendations?

Post by shireen »

I'm planning to replace my old 40g glass Perfecto when i move. It's worked fine but I'm concerned about seal integrity.

Does anyone have comments about the brands that are available? Which ones are the best quality? Are there any local stores that sell the rimless variety?

Thanks,
shireen

If you want rimeless MarineDepot has far deals on Mr. Aqua tanks with good prices on shipping, I was looking into building my own 12 gallon long and their price was better than any by almost $30, but you should still expect to pay a little more as it's not like the Petco dollar per gallon sale, which is a nother option.

I have never seen a rimless tank in a store (not even at the PA meeting) unless it was a "all in one" type tank and they were mostly nano's with the larger tanks all had built in hoods, filters, etc. but House of Tropicals has a wide selection of these types of tanks, good luck.
Sincerely,
Tim

I don't know if Oceanic still makes their rimless tanks, but I once saw one in Exotic Aquatics.

A number of members have purchased rimless tanks from Greenleaf Aquarium, to generally positive reviews. And few people have ever said anything bad about ADA tanks.

I've bought tanks from both Marine Depot and from GLA. Both had good quality tanks with low iron glass. S&H is normally free for orders over $75.

Well, I've pretty much given up looking for a rimless 40g long (48" long) -- can't find any online. Glasscages.com will make them, but i'm not thrilled by the reviews of that company. I guess I'll have to get a standard tank from Exotic Aquatics or Aquarium Depot.

Anyone know about the Aqueon Classic Pine Stands? I really like them. Good storage space too.

cheers,

Sorry no help here, other than to say my cheap Marineland pine stand has held my 150 for years and is sturdy despite it looking rather light in build, good luck.
Sincerely,
Tim
