I have a 37 gallon tank with a big black brace down the center of it that casts a big shadow in the middle of my aquarium, which I find very annoying.
Has anyone ever removed the brace and replaced it with stainless steel cables or a piece of acrylic? Or is there some other nifty solution that I should consider?
Considering removing/replace center brace

I have 4 24" T5. Two of the bulbs are pink Geisemann and two are the Geisemann AquaFlora.chris_todd wrote:Julie, what kind of light fixture do you have? I have a 37g with the center brace, but it does not have anywhere near as prominent a shadow as that. I'm using a Coralife T5.
The lights are attached to the top of my canopy which is about 4 inches above water. I give my arms a work out every time I lift the canopy off to work in the tank.

Ah, that explains the difference, I think. My coralife fixture sits directly on top of the glass tops.jweis wrote:I have 4 24" T5.
