Cheers to GWAPA and our host. The warmth and generosity I experienced yesterday was like no other club I have ever been involved with. Having been the President of CMAS, I believe that statement caries a little weight.

Thank you all for the jump start you have given my tank. It is now full of water and plants. I will update my journal later.

Yes, thanks for hosting Judi! It was great to see both familiar and new faces there and the energy that that mix brings to the meetings. And I actually brought a plant that Dave didn't recognize. :P It's a first!

Re: Rachel and the group order. I couldn't remember if someone mentioned this already... Rachel usually comes down once a month for the Capital Cichlid Association meeting in Silver Spring. So you could confirm with her that she's coming and possibly pick stuff up on March 12th or a subsequent month. And CCA is a another great group of folks and they usually have interesting speakers as well, so its a double win if you go...

Doh! Why didn't I think of that! Thanks for mentioning that Doug.

I've been going to the CCA meetings lately, so if there are any members in VA who want to have me get some of the DOA replacements/missing orders, you can try to arrange that with Rachel, and then can pick them up at my place in Reston, that night, I'd be willing to help out in that way.

Yesterday, was my first meeing and I had a great time. Thank you Judy for hosting and thank you to everyone that took the time to give a newbie like me advice.

I am thrilled with all the new plants. I was worried I had gotten too many, but they all look really nice and it is a nice contrast of colors and textures.

Also the shrimp from Michael and Rick are doing great. Oh, and the little Boraras brigittae are a great touch. I wish I had gotten more of the little guys. I could watch them all day.

I'm looking forward to next month's meeting already.
