Food for February meeting

Post by chris_todd »

OK, Amy and I will be making something in a crock pot, LOL, but we haven't decided what yet. Could be anything, but it will be something entree-ish.

Who else can contribute? Looking for dessert, add-on or snack-like items.

Also, we've discovered that drinks are an issue... can anyone (or perhaps a few people) commit to bringing 6-12 2-liter bottles of soda/drinks? Keep in mind, we have a budget, and you can be reimbursed... Just let me know if you can bring a few...

I'll make some cupcakes. Red velvet and funfetti. If you need more, let me know. I'll pick up some Coke, Diet Coke, and root beer at the store tomorrow.

I'll bring a Pakistani dish. Spicy Black Chick Peas. More savory than hot so leave the fire extinguisher at home.

Sounds great, everyone, thanks! Looks like we should be good on drinks and desserts, and between Ghazanfar's tasty sounding chick peas and whatever is in our crock pot, we should have some substantial food as well.

I think we may need just a bit more snacky/salty/crunchy type things, like maybe a veggie try with a dip, or chips or crackers or something like that. I don't know, what do you all think? Any suggestions?

And does anyone have any suggestions for what we should put in our crock pot?

Thanks, Julie! Since you're new, you should know that we do have a modest budget for this, so please save your receipt and at the meeting give it to Ghazanfar to be reimbursed.

Also, while attendance varies anywhere from 18-40 people, we typically try to plan for about 25 people, so I wouldn't get a veggie try bigger than about 18" in diameter or so. In fact, something roughly 12" in diameter will probably be fine.
