I'm ready to setup a 10g quarantine tank and need recommendations for heater and filter.
Are they all "good enough" for sporadic use or are there some "stay away" or "best of class" selections?
Thanks
Jim

For a 10g I've always had a hard time finding a balance between a good filtration and too much flow as to create a stressful situation for the fish--provided we are talking about a true bare QT tank and smaller fish.
The standard answer from your purist types of course would be the good 'ol standby sponge filter Chris already mentioned.
That said I'm still a fan of HOB filters, FWIW. There are several people on here that have had success with the in-tank filters too, which might be a good option since you won't be concerned with looks.

It is not murder if you're killing snails.
