Noice! Good job arelene , it looks very happy!scientist0724 wrote:The violet is absolutely beautiful! I tried to adjust my camera to get the pink in the leaves and the deep purple of the flowers, but I don't think I did it justice. Can you believe how big the leaves are???
Just a gorgeous plant!

Mine is healthy, though so it's not gone crazy or flowered, either. I suspect Arlene has babied hers more and given it lots of plant food, while I've just kept mine on a water diet. One thing that's interesting is that all the new leaves emerged variegated pink, not white. I think it might be because though the window is east facing, it's in a very bright location (big office window, 10th floor).
I"m going to try to do some culturing this weekend. I want to brush up on technique so I get the most out of the workshop at AGA. Any suggestions on easy stuff to try (besides violets)?

I'm not really doing much for mine. The pot faces a west facing window, so it gets afternoon sun. The variegation on mine is both pink and white. I water the plant once, maybe twice a week, but I do fertilize mine every two weeks with the leftover orchid water/fertilizer solution. Maybe that's why my plant has been flowering for a while now and the leaves are huge.
