Spring Field Trip

Post by halak »

I was thinking that if a few of us got together, we could take a trip to visit some places (breeders/importers/stores) in PA. I have come up with three possible routes. The starting point is Gaithersburg, MD, and in parentheses I calculated the traveling times. I was thinking about going in the spring. If someone knows of another place worth visiting which is on the way, let me know. So, let me know if you want to join me and also which route you would prefer.

A:
That Pet Place-Lancaster, PA (2:10)
The Amazon Basement-York, PA (40 minutes)
Amazon Tropicals-Spring Grove, PA (20 minutes)
back to Gaithersburg: 1:40
total travel time: 4:40

B:
Anubias Design-Bensalem, PA (2:40)
The Amazon Basement-York, PA (2 hours)
Amazon Tropicals-Spring Grove, PA (20 minutes)
back to Gaithersburg: 1:40
total travel time: 6.5 hours

C:
Anubias Design-Bensalem, PA (2:40)
That Fish Place-Lancaster, PA (1:35)
The Amazon Basement-York, PA (40 minutes)
Amazon Tropicals-Spring Grove, PA (20 minutes)
back to Gaithersburg: 1:40
total travel time: 7 hours

I think this is a great idea, Viktor... Depending on the timing, I'd be up for this. I'd think that A would be my preference, so we'd have lots of time to spend at each place.

I second Kris's idea. I'm with option A. Less driving.

Cheers.

How can we fit Aqua Forest Aquarium into that?

Depending on the date, Amy and I might be up for that. I like option A best.

By taking I-70 West to I-76 West, then picking up I-80 in Youngstown, Ohio, and not stopping until you get to San Francisco. :D With four drivers taking shifts, you could easily make it in two days. Now THAT'S a road trip! (I did something similar in my early 20s, but to Santa Barbara instead. It was fun at the time, but not something I'd do now...)

Fun!
But I tried to find "Arizona Tropicals" in Spring Grove, PA and failed. Wondering if you meant "Amazon Tropicals", as I'm pretty sure that's where Chris is (Spring Grove). Yes? Or am I crazy??
It is not murder if you're killing snails.

Well, it seems that we will go with option A. I am planning on doing this sometime in April. In a couple of weeks, I will contact the two breeders/importers to see which Saturdays would work for them in April. Then I will let you all decide on the specific date.
