Holiday Potluck - Dec. 5th - Signup!

Post by krisw »

GWAPA has had a great year in 2009. Our membership currently sports 89 members, a new record. We've hosted a tissue culture workshop, toured a bog, visited a carnivorous plant nursery, hosted a profitable convention in Aquafest, organized several group buys, and of course had our regular meetings. I'd like to thank everyone for another great year. It's the members that make the club, and to that end, let's get together for one last social event of the year for our annual Holiday Potluck.

December 5th, 1:00pm

John Godbey has graciously volunteered to host our party at his home in Springfield, VA. GWAPA will provide ham (thanks to John and his wife for cooking) and sodas, but it's up to all of us to bring the side dishes, salads, desserts, etc.

Please post what you are bringing in this thread so that we can be sure to have a nice variety of items.

I will be bringing some sort of vegan vegetable side dish (this is for you Cavan). I'll update once I've decided.

I was thinking about squash soup. Would there be a place to plug in a pot to keep it warm?

I'll bring baked salmon if that's ok otherwise i'll bring Leche Flan (filipino custard).

I'll list the ingredients in case someone or somebody is alergic to something.

Leche Flan (Filipino custard):
- Egg yolk
- Condensed milk
- Evaporated milk
- Fine white sugar

Kris, I'll pick up the soda, ice, and bring the cups and plates we have in stock plus some new stuff.

I'm still thinking about a dish to bring. Maybe I'll do the appetizer/finger food.

Aquascape? I'm a crypt farmer.

If you've got bait, I've got wasabi!

I wish I could be like Mr. Sarcastic when I grow up! ;)
