Flowering emersed hairgrass

Post by fredyk »

I am growing this hairgrass in a dessert cup, and it has been growing in aquasoil. It gets about 4-5 hours direct sun. For the past year, it has been covered with plastic wrap to prevent evaporation, but the plants grew slowly.

Since removing the plastic wrap, it needs a refill about every two days, but the plants respond nicely.

As you can see it is growing out of the cup, and it has flowers.

Yknow, gotta admit - I tried one of these with some (used) Aquasoil. The results are not pretty on my windowsill.

You can see the brown blades of grass and how it dies back in winter, due to less sun

Edit whoops! wrong pic. I'll edit later.
