What Do You Like To Feed

Post by ddavila06 »

hey, i was looking at one of my mom's center plants , a large amazon sword from the echinodorus species, and i noticed the leaves are all sucked and eaten...the plecos. i have 3 albino plecos and two ancistrus bristle nose plecos there. what do you feed your plecos besides cucumber and algea wafflers?

Damien,
I've been told that green leafy veggies such as spinach, kale, romain lettuce, and swiss chard are all good foods for plecos. If you use them fresh, I was told to freeze and thaw - and not cook - them. This will soften them making them easier for the fish to eat without losing much of the nutritional vitamins and minerals. I also heard squash is a good food too.
