Trident Java fern spores
Well, I've collected some in wax paper. Has anybody ever grown ferns from spores before? How long does the gametophyte phase last? (probably longer than my patience)

I know our Internet connection at home is down right now, so I'll go ahead and answer for Amy.
No this was not grown emersed - we just got this plant at the auction at Dave's house. This leaf fell off the plant as we planted it, and Amy noticed it had spores on the under side and thought it might be a fun experiment to see if we could germinate them.
We've found some information on the 'Net, but any tips, hints, or suggestions would be appreciated. We'll report our results.
