Thanks, but unfortunately it's a bit less pretty right now after being in Seattle for 6 days. Stupid algae! I really like the conduit stand though -- definitely it easy to get in and out of the tank, although evaporation is a pain on this tank.

if you don't want to loose fish and want an open top you could take up say 2 inches of the top of the tank with black tape maybe all around so if it is a display tank noone will see it that easy. also, you can make a wood top or canopy to match the stand like i have in my turtle tank. those usually have the back open for filters etc but you can close it up to suit your needs

i think im going to do that because cleaning the top is a pain big time!

oops, my bad. I was thinking he wanted the conduit to run wiring in the basement not for hanging lights. Definately need the EMT for hanging lights. The PVC won't take the weight over time.

I followed the same demo from the earlier meeting to hang my lights on my 125, but I keep them much lower, about 2" from the water because I don't like the spillout of all the light into the room. Have had no issues with them like this, 'cept the reflectors need to be wiped down for water spots once in a while.

Out of curiosity, how much light do you have over the 125?
