Ember tetra in filter
I hadn't cleaned out the canister filter on my 20 gallon in --well, I'm just too embarrassed to say. I finally cleaned it out today, and found an almost fully grown ember tetra in there!
Someone should design a filter with a light inside. That way when we save fry and baby shrimp, the light isn't a shock to their system!

One of the reasons I like the Rena Filstars is that their canister is translucent, so it's easy for me to see whether I have fry or shrimp living in my canister (which I have had happen) *before* I open it up. Putting sponge pre-filters over the filter intake seems to have solved that problem. Of course, now I have large sponges in my tanks to try and hide, so that's a bit of a trade-off.
