Dave;

Your Arhraxon looks more like a Tradescantia or Commelina.

Arthraxon leaves completely enclose the stem like in the third picture of the link below. Note how the stem appears to grow through the leaf blade.

Tradescantia and Commelina leaves do not. They are attached to the stem by a thin leaf sheath.

I think your plant looks more like Asiatic Dayflower, Commelina communis.

or Tradescantia albiflora.

Another one to grow out a flower.

Cheers.

Don't start. ;)

It is traded as and known as Arthraxon Malayasia! That's my story and I'm sticking to it! :mrgreen:

I've seen that plant in person, and it does indeed look like a grass. Arthraxon is probably wrong, but I don't think it's from Commelinaceae. Definitely not C. communis. That one will rot to mush within a day of being submersed and usually doesn't grow near water. But you can eat it. :o

We need to flower it. It should be easy after that, as I know some good people who are experts on grasses and Commelinaceae. Actually, if someone can provide me with a stem or two of what's being called Arthaxon, I can take it in next week. Identifying it to family shouldn't be a problem at all.

Is there still some co2 tubing left from the group order a while back? If so, I could use about 10 ft. Thanks!

Judi, yes, I'll bring you a 10 foot segment. If anyone else needs any, let me know. It's 50 cents/foot.

I'll also bring a bunch of bags: $1/dozen bags

SCALES generously donated Rotala wallachii, Barclaya Red, and Spatterdock for the auction this month. Bid high on those plants! Thank you SCALES!
