Vic I really wanted to see your home and fish rooms. I also wanted to make the meeting, but have been committed to a volunteer project and a retreat in the early evening.

Luckily My schedule looks better for the Spring and I will have to learn to say NO! so I will have time to enjoy the hobby I love.

See you all soon.

The large tank in the living room is a 125. You don't have to wait until the spring to look for wood.

I too plan to go out into the woods near my home to see what kinds of interesting pieces of wood I can find. Thanks for hosting Viktor. It was another oustanding meeting.

Thank you so much for hosting Viktor, we loved seeing all your beautiful tanks, and enjoyed hearing about your driftwood collecting experiences.

Man, are you folks good at growing plants! Every single plant we brought home was drop-dead gorgeous, from the Crypt Beckettii, dwarf sag, cyperus helferi, and anubias Coffefolia from Eugen to the Blyxa from Christy to the Narrow leaf Java Fern from Dave, to the crypts and taiwan moss from Aaron, C. Wendtii 'mi oya' from Jim, downoi and C. Potederiifolia from Viktor, rotala verticularis/pogostemon erectus from Kris; it was all just incredible.

We were up until after 1 am getting it all planted, and we still ended up having to float Ghazanfar's hygro overnight - there was just so much of it, we couldn't get it all planted. Whew!

Thanks again for another great meeting! Can't wait for next month...

Thank you Viktor (and your wife and daughter) for allowing us into your home. Your tanks are amazing. Have a quick question. I live down in Calvert county, so there are downed trees in the woods around here. Would popular roots work in a tank? I believe we have some down behind my parents house. Also, other than pine, are there any trees commonly found around maryland that wouldn't work in a tank? What about cypress? We have the most northernly stand of cypress in the world right around the corner from my parents house.

Thanks again!

Bridget,

Other than pine avoid cherry and walnut. Cypress and poplar are good; however, I read that poplar may take a long time to sink.
