Maybe the loaches, but you'd just have to try them, unfortunately.

What about BN plecos?

Also, I've decreased the lights today and changed out our co2 diffuser. Neither one of us was too impressed by it. I replaced it with a co2 ladder from my Hagen yeast co2 system (I had replaced the ladder with a nano diffuser after loosing 2 fish in it-they became trapped and died). So far, by the time the bubbles reach the top of the ladder they are extremely small. The bubble count is way low though. About 2 bubbles a min. Will retest co2 lvls tomorrow (barring a drop checker, I'll use the chart method).

Thanks!

The ladder is probably not near as efficient as the reactor you had. You definitely need more bubbles than that -- closer to 2-3 bubbles/second in your bubble counter.

BN plecos won't bother shrimp at all.

Unfortunately, BN aren't known to readily eat BBA. Amano shrimp will eat the stuff. Never say never, but that's what I would recommend.

ok. Also, what is the best co2 diffuser to use? I've increased the co2 to 1/sec and can see the ladder would not be able to handle anything faster.

Several options.

Hit Ebay, CO2 diffuser....

I was actually looking into an order from AquaticMagic for a bubble counter or two, if you want to join orders we could share shipping. He has decent items, the Rhinox are pretty good diffusers. The nano ones aren't bad either, just not so great to push a fast bubble rate through.

When are you placing the order? For the 75gal, would the Rhinox 5000 be the one to choose even though it says it's for at least 5 bubbles/sec rate? We're aiming for 2-3 bps.

Can place anytime - if I do it this week, we should have stuff for the January meeting.

As for the size of it, I am slowly but surely getting it drilled into my stubborn and cheap head that it is worth it to go the the next bigger size. ;) When you try and push them, they just spit out bigger bubbles instead of a fine mist.

Dave, which link are you ordering from? I could use a couple of diffusers, too.
