so i got these from someone a couple of months ago, like 5 or so. since, they have grown a ton, more than three times the size they were, but recently they lost their bananas , whats next? death???? what do you think

The "bananas" are storage tubers, and are not needed or wanted on actively growing well-rooted plants. When platlets appear on the floating leaves, if you leave them long enough they will develop the tubers. That provides food/reserve energy for when the leaf disintegrates and the young plant floats away to establish itself. Once rooted and getting food from the substrate/water, no tubers are needed, the mature plant is not going anywhere.
The flowers are very nice.
Good plant for SE Asian weedy plant area fishes - nice and shady and great spots for bubble nests without submerged vegetation to block your view. Of course, it does mee a rather sparse submerged aquascape...
