Surface Scum
All my o2 is being trapped under the water by surface scum. My eheim skimmer is not working properly by way of no suction. im wondering if my canister has to much media in it, otherwise it gets lodged with plant crap anyway. ive read somewhere about that female black mollies eat up surface scum. is this true of net-myth ?
What kind of cannister are you using? If it's eheim too, then you might have the baskets...so, what kind of media are you using? I used the Ecco's from eheim and usually use one basket with the coarse blue sponges, one basket with ehfi substrate or ehfi-something (the other ceramic-like media), and then the top basket a blue sponge w/ a peat bag, ehfi-synth (the microfiber stuff), or another blue sponge. When I tried to use too much of the gravel-like media, I noticed the filter slowed down in about a week. I also have forgotten I had the micron filter in and that caused problems too. HTH
