Ghazanfar's External CO2 Reactor

I was reading the article again and decided I want to make one. My only problem is I don't know where to get the fitting for the CO2 line.

I'm getting some CO2 tubing from the group order, 1/8 ID, 1/4 OD.

Any suggestions?

You can also omit it entirely, and simply bubble the CO2 into the intake of your filter.

Do mean omit the reactor? I have an XP2, will it still work? I was thinking you could only do that with Eheim Classics. where the water flows into the bottom and out through the top.

I meant, omit the CO2 in on the reactor, but on the XP2, I'd say just try it and see. The reactors definitely affect flow rates a little bit, so if you can get away without one, do it. Anyone with XP2's have experience with CO2 into the filter?

You can also omit it entirely, and simply bubble the CO2 into the intake of your filter.

But be aware that you can also airlock your filter doing this as well. So if you try it, make sure you are home to monitor it.

I guess I'm afraid of airlocking the filter, and there is less chance of that
with a inline reactor, but the tradeoff would be less flow.

Is anyone running CO2 into their XP filter without any issues?

I am. I have an XP3 and the only problem I had was that I did not have a valve in the CO2 line and one time the filter got clogged. Then some water was sucked out through the CO2 line. But now I have a valve, so that won't happen again. I have had it running for almost a year now.
