I've been reading alot about lights, I know I need a 36" T5 HO, fixture with 4 bulbs.
I looked at Catalina aquariums Solar T5 but that is running $375, Drs.Foster and Smith has one on sale...

and there is alway the Sunlight Supply Tek T5 which is kind of pricey.
We have a really small house so this is in the dining room, I am more concerned with noise and apperance because it's in a high visablity area.
I don't mind spending the $$$'s, because of the location. Let me know what you think.

You might see if you can find what you need at Aquarium Hobbyist Supply, http://www.ahsupply.com/index.html . Their prices are good, and most of us who have used them are very happy with what we bought. Their appearance may not be just what you want, but otherwise I don't think you can go wrong.

FranniyB,
Thanks! I was afraid the fan would be noisy. You KNOW the cheapest is option is probably never going to work... at least for this particular area, noise is going to be a big deal.
Thanks for all the other suggestions too!
Oh yeah... Just checked the bank account! Justin just recieved his bonus, that means Maria is getting some NICE lights! Better get that CO2 system ordered before he figures out what I am up to.

I have a Tek light and I love it. There is a seller on Ebay with the best prices. SeedsEtc.. or something like that is his user name. Tell him you would like to purchase 4 Giesemann midday bulbs along with the fixture and you'll be set with a super nice setup. Mine is in my dining room. The bulbs will last you 2 years easily.
