I got some of this not too long ago from the Aquarium Center. Have any of you guys tried it out? I've been browsing the net, but can't find any info on it. So far it's doing well, and seems to require little care.

Is this the same as Nymphoides sp. Taiwan? If so,
its fairly easy to grow. One interesting thing
about this plant is that you can clip off a leaf
with a few inches of the petiole and plant it. It'll
grow into a whole new plant!

It could very well be the same plant. That's true, that's exactly how I've propogated it. It will send out runners once it gets bigger too.

Yes, Gloria has a bunch of it growing in the show tank in the dry goods section. She clips it just like Ghazanfar said and sells them for about $2 a piece. Once in a while she'll have some of the plantlets available too.

Hi All,

I picked up a couple of these last month. It's growing really well, but would like to know what it is for sure for my log. Can't find anything on "Crispum Nymphaes" on the net. Searched here for keywords "Nymphoides"

http://plantsdatabase.com/search.php?se ... Nymphoides& Search=Search

Any ideas? When you say Nymphoides, do you know which one specifically? Floating Heart, Water Snowflake Nymphoides indica?? The leaf on these from AC seem so much more delicate that the Nymphoides indica though.

Thanks for any help.

Tori,

Gloria and I looked it up in the Kasselman book. It's most definitely nymphoides sp. tawain. It doesn't have a common name that I know of. Whenever a plant has "sp." in the name it means they haven't officially named it yet.

Oops! I thought "sp" meant that Ghazanfar wasn't sure of the spelling.   <img border="0" src="smileys/smiley9.gif" border="0"> Learn something new every day. I ordered the Kasselman book today. What's one more, huh?! Thanks Aaron.
