well thats a new one to me...

so last night I went up a picked up two oto's for the 2.5..

This morning I wake up and can only find one. After hunting high and low I decided to move the filter off the tank and see if he was stuck to the intake or something.

Nope not there but err wait, what is that in the outflow??

hmm..

I had an oto commit suicide by ramming himself into the outflow tube, wedging his fins out and getting stuck.

nothing that I know of.

Then again, The water parameters on the 2.5 are all kinds of wacked out. I am about to strip it and totally redo it. I cant figure out what is causing the issues.

Yeah, I"m waiting until my tank is fully grown in before adding fish. The Aquasoil leaches ammonia for 4-6 weeks after setup.

I set mine up about 4 weeks ago, and it's still leaching ammonia. Plants seem to like it, though!

Sorry about your suicidal oto.

I set my tank up the day we got them. It was doing great until my DIY CO2 failed on me and my plants started dying. When I went to fix it the glass diffuser I had shattered in the tank. I got so mad I just unplugged the filter/lights and said the hell with it. I think I might redo it in August sometime. When are the final pictures due for the contest? I have a picture from when I first set it up that looks pretty nice, can I use that even though the plants weren’t grown in?
