Well, there you go. I can't think of any web pages off hand, but there are many people interested in growing native orchids. You might can find a web page.[/quote]
TerrOrchid is a good site but they'll be more into planting it in the ground than in water.

The Orchidboard is another, but I recently posted a question about trying Spiranthes in semi-hydro and got a pretty quick "They're so easy to grow in the ground why would you want to do S/H"?

Cheers.

I sent stems off last year on it to get propped, but the guy who does them died. His wife should be growing them out and I still get some plants back... I hope... so we'll see. I might have several.DelawareJim wrote:Ben;
Congrats on the Phal 'Diane Belton', I'd love to get a plant in the future. It looks like you favour the Phalaenopsis?
Do I see some semi-hydro going on in your basement greenhouse too?
I don't do semi-hydroponic. I tried it with 2 oncidiums and one didn't like it and one was OK. Everyone else has good success with it. I know Ghazanfar does. S/H is kinda bulky and it's only recently that I had much space. Plus when the water shoots out the side, it makes a mess. Mostly I learned to grow my Phals the way I do and have stuck with it. It's been funny the people I've talked to that have been into aquariums and now have orchids too.

Jeff, this would be a good time to start another thread titled.
"Sean, HELP! How do I grow this plant!"
Don't worry though, some day you'll learn how not to highjack threads and when to start a new thread.
