When are you doing this Jeff? I'm doing some
set ups very soon, maybe we could get together, I'll show you the
substrate.
Actually I'm setting up one substrate tomorrow night, this one isn't
very much DIY but the next ones will be. Two more to come over
the next few months, one of which will be a 29 gallon Crypt only
tank at my wifes new office. I'll start a new thread about what I'm
attempting to do and why as this is drifting quite a bit: Semi-fertile
substrates.

This is looking great! Especially, since the last time I saw it, it was more of a green soup! In anycase, the picture really looks like this is larger than a 10gal tank. Great job!

What is the really short stuff, right in front of the hairgrass? Is that glosso?

Nice looking tank Sean. I've read through this post and it's nice to know I'm not the only one who doesn't fret about testing parameters. So what type of soil are you using for substrate? Just plain 'ole potting soil?

Thanks Kris, the plant is Hemianthus callicthoides, a 'micro' baby's tears. If it only grew as fast as baby's tears we'd have more of it to spread around.

Thanks Aaron, no I don't recommend anyone use any type of potting soil. We'll have an article for it posted after my talk this month.

Huh... I like the looks of that Hemianthus callicthoides. That for identifying!
