If you want, have them contact you about the tank and just let me know how many you need before the meeting.

That seems reasonable. I may just go ahead and get a whole new set up even if it costs me more.Jeff120 wrote:Yes you can, but you dont get the pro rated price, if you participated in the past your cost would be 37.00 for an entire setup vs 20.00. GWAPA subsidizes the cost significantly for new members.Judi wrote:Do we have to use last year's set up, or can we buy a new one? My tank from last year is still going and I'd hate to break it down to start a new scape if I don't have to.
Im really tempted to enter the day glow ultra neon nano into the competition.
Glow in the dark gravel
neon plastic plants
the day glow bubbler
neon danios or neon glassfish
all under a blacklight.
I will of course lose, but I will also win for the gaudiest tank ever!
Hmm, wonder if the tank would be front page material as an example of what NOT to do

Jeff, Make sure you've got a sunken treasure chest that opens and closes, or a skull with glowing eyes, LOL...... That would be real SWANK,
I love the idea of an award for the worst tank -- maybe a separate competition? I could win an award for the most algae or the most snails crammed in a tank category, LOL......

Just another reminder for everyone to register for the contest. Even if you've never aquascaped before, this is a great opportunity to get some inexpensive equipment, and try your best. Last year, the best tanks in the contest were from beginner aquascapers.
I'd love to have 30 people participating this year!

There's one other thing the board is excited to announce about this year's contest -- Red Sea has generously opted to sponsor the competition, and has sent the club one of their CO2 Pro Systems, retailing around $150!
http://www.redseafish.com/co2_pro.asp
All aquascaping contest participants are eligible to win the CO2 Pro System. You must be signed up to win. We will put all of the contest participant's names in a hat at the April meeting when other equipment is picked up, and draw the winning name at that time. Red Sea has also generously sent a few other of their products for consolation prizes, and we're hoping to have at least one more sponsor for the contest.
If this isn't a reason to participate, I don't know what is. Sign up today at:
