ahh ok, then hhmm maybe i only have regular repens? Mine isnt red all the way across, it is blood red closest to the lights and the leaves that are only getting marginal light deeper in the tank are either very faint or just green

That's a picture of the 'Rubin' variety. It has more elongated leaves and is about an inch wider in diameter than the regular repens.

Rick definitely didnt have that one....I am picking some up from him today and its definitely just repens.

Yes, we're agreed on that. Rick had regular repens in his tank.

Last I knew Jamie, John G. and Mark had the 'Rubin' variety.

The last rubin that was sold was bought by a founding member I'd only met a time or two... was his name Bill? A few months ago. LAst time I remember it sold anyhow.

It is larger, and a much darker deeper red, than regular repens.

I think I have a few stalks left, but they are sort of pitiful. It has never done very well in my tank.

That plant showed up in GWAPA when I was take a hiatus from stems - dont
have it - sorry.

I was saying that you needed to take John's pitiful few stalks and bring five bags to the next meeting is all......figured that you could get it done and save the Rubin world
