My 50G

Post by jcali10 »

Thought I would finally post some of my handiwork. I set this tank up about a week before the January meeting.
Used to be able to see the rocks behind the Blyxa, but it has grown out some.

Looks like you're having no problem growing plants. They all look good and heathy! The layout looks good. You're right about the rocks. Often times when hardscaping you've got to place bigger rocks than what looks correct at the time to compensate for plant growth later. Thanks for sharing!

That's looking really nice Joe. :D Thanks for sharing a pic of your new setup. You'll get the hang of scaping as time goes on. Keep focusing on growing plants well and scaping won't be as frustrating down the road. :D

Looking nice and healthy! Are those corkscrew vals in the front corner though? Boy are those going to grow out...

The Val in the front left is Vallisneria americana var. biwaensis, it's not supposed to get very tall. I will move it to the background if and when it gets taller.

The lone stem is Bacopa Carolinia, it's minty fresh. I have a few of those in there, obscured by the Cabomba in the back left corner. I plan on moving them to my 20 soon. I have more in the 20.

I appreciate the comments. I think I learned the rocks should be taller than the foreground plants.
