I bought a new RODI filter on ebay and hooked it up for the first time today, but I think something's not right. All the water goes to the storage tank - there's no waste water. I think it's either hooked-up wrong or labeled wrong.

Is there someone who could take a look at it and tell me what's wrong? I can bring it to the meeting.

Thanks,
Cristy

I've hooked a few of them, which one did you get? I just ordered one from Air, Water and Ice after reading about a bazzilion reviews on Reef Central.

It sounds like the membrane is missing.

It says Applied Membranes Inc with a model #. I don't know if that's for the whole thing or just that part, but it's the only name on it.

Can it be opened to check if there is a membrane? I tried unscrewing the canisters from the tops, but they don't budge.

Please supply the make and model of the unit you bought. Did it come with a filter wrench?

In the majority of the units sold to the hobby the membrane is in a canister located 90 degrees to the 2, 3 or 4 tall canisters. See here

Model# H-F1032-43A Applied Membranes Inc. Looks like the model# is just for the carbon filter part of the system. The system is a 110gpd.

It has 2 canisters that sit horizontally above the 3 tall canisters - 1 is bigger, the other is the carbon.

Sorry, I forgot about this thread, is it working right yet?

I'd be happy to take a look at it on Sat if your coming to the meeting. I just hooked one up this afternoon and it's still very fresh in my mind.

Great! I'll bring it. If you have a tool to open the canisters, will you bring that, too?
Thanks!
