It's looking better and better. You may want to break up those hairgrass clumps quite a bit more. Try planting just a few blades together in clumps every inch or so. It will fill in more uniformly that way. Then get a cold beer and rest your back. :D

Yeah yeah, duckweed has been removed, and the hairgrass is on my to do list for today or tomorrow. I just crammed it in there until I could get to it.

I've yet to start dosing, so I am getting a little hair algae and dust on the glass. Not much, definately not as much as I expected, so I can't complain.

Even without dosing, I'm seeing growth on nearly everything. It's slow, but a few inches over the past week I'd say.

The cloudy water has cleared up, finally. Lasted about a week, and was driving me nuts.

Here's a quick shot I just took. It's not great, still playing with camera settings to figure out how to take a good FTS:

Today I setup the autodosers I've been asking about. After testing I found that I pump about 100ml per cycle (1 min duration). More than I expected, but no biggy.

I decided to give the PPS-Pro solution a whirl and see how it does. I modified their standard mixture, increasing the K by about 20% and scaling everything up for my 100ml dosages.

See any issues here? I'm a little concerned about dosing both the micros and macros simultaneously side by side like that. Should I be?

Iron and Phosphate are best not to be dosed at the same time, as they'll cloud the water. Just run the powerheads on different timers, and do macros in the morning, and micros in the afternoon. :-)

Oh, and the tank looks great!

Either that or move one of the tubes to the other side of the tank and dose at the same time. Just make sure it doesn't f-up your amount dosed!

Ive got what I believe to be staghorn everywhere. Not 100% sure that's what it is, as it's longer than I expected staghorn to be. Anyone available for hire for removal???

If it is really staghorn, just spin a toothbrush in it, comes out pretty easily that way.

I've had outbreaks a couple of times in my 30 long - dust that tank up playing in the substrate and don't do a good enough water change, and bang, out comes the staghorn.

Thanks for the suggestion. I actually went yesterday and spot treated some of the major areas with excel - mainly because I had never done that before and wanted to see what it would do. lol. My science project tank.

I've never used excel for an algae treatment, but as I understand it I'd want to dose daily with the initial amount recommended on the bottle?
