Why could you not use some Crushed coral in a filter bag instead of powersand?
I use crushed coral in ALL of my tanks and have never had any issues that I know of.
It DOES seem to stablize the system faster, and the pH doesn't
crash for as long a duration or as much. That may be an effect, but
isnt the sole purpose of the powersand - hence the crushed coral
should NOT be followed through.
