I could have 5 different scapes by the time the meeting comes!
We have been begging for an advanced trimming technique for awhile from you, glad we are going to get to hear about it.
I can get the dome shape, and some bushyness, but that is perfect dome and fuller then any I may have ever seen.

I saw this tank after a previous trim, I think I have the key. If you trim and make it look nice, it will grow out looking like crap. If you hack the crap out of it, not making it look great at all, it will grow in nice.Ben Belton wrote:I want to add, can you take a picture after you trim next time? When I've actually had an aquascape, I found trimming frustrating. Everything would come out nice, I'd trim, and then it would grow back awful.
I need to open a bag of Aquasoil and get back into the groove.

Aquascape? I'm a crypt farmer.
If you've got bait, I've got wasabi!
I wish I could be like Mr. Sarcastic when I grow up!

Hmmm, so trimming strategy lies in deciding when and how to make it look like crap?SCMurphy wrote: I saw this tank after a previous trim, I think I have the key. I used to stress about how to make my tank look good. Now you two are telling me I have to stress about how and when to make my plant look like crap so that I can then stress about how and when it might look good?Judi wrote:Hmmm, so trimming strategy lies in deciding when and how to make it look like crap?SCMurphy wrote: I saw this tank after a previous trim, I think I have the key. I prefer the jungle look personally.Rick Dotson wrote:Crap never looked so good. I have the jungle look because I can't bring myself to hack everything to the bone.
its a plant, it grows where it wants not where I decide.
