Anubias flower!

Post by Judi »

My anubias nana "eyes" has a flower! Sorry about the lousy picture (I am not a photographer!)

So what makes an anubias decide to bloom? Can I take any credit for making this happen? :)

That looks nice and the plant looks healthy.

Some people recommend cutting the flower because it takes energy away from the plant. I've always left them on and enjoyed them. It's not like if you cut it, the anubias will take over your tank in a week from the energy it's not wasting. :-) It's going to grow slow no matter what you do.

Grats!

Look, guys, she has an ACTUAL flower, not like some goof finding a new huge leaf and thinking it was a crypt flower...

My substrate-rooted A. nana plants tend to flower regularly, the rock-attached ones bloom much less often.

I leave the flowers on the plants also.

I have never heard anyone say to cut the flower off an Anubius, who would give that kind of useless advice?

If you've got bait, I've got wasabi!

I wish I could be like Mr. Sarcastic when I grow up! ;)
