Help with my fishie :(

Post by ingg »

I'd picked up two young pair of Pelvichromis Taeniatus Nyete from Aaron recently.

I split the two pairs up, as it seemed that there was deifnitely a younger and older pair.

The younger male has.... I don't know what.

He's in a planted tank, with endler males, cherry and amano and tiger shrimp, neon rainbows, pygmy cories.

His skin, right before the tail starts at the base there, has what looks like a big whitehead pimple. One on each side, symmetcrial - it is like I stuck a white little barbell through him in some twisted piercing scheme.

I ordinarily do not go to great lengths saving fish - my track record with medicating them is horrible, and I end up euthanizing mos tof them I try and save.

These guys are sorta special to me. I have no idea how I'd find a replacement for him, it was so kind of Aaron to pass them to me, and they are just awesome - this was my cichlid for the 180g, the two pairs!

Not ich. Not Oodinum. I can see any waving protrusion to make me think it is a worm.

Any ideas, what could it be, how can I help him?

Dave,
You will need to separate that fish from the others right away(Hospital tank/½t.water-½new) Raise the water temp. 5 degrees and give him a salt bath 1 tsp/gal you can trow a couple spoonfuls of Epson salt in there also. Call me if you need more info.

Will try and get something set up and separate it ASAP.

Any idea what the heck this is? I lost a Ram once ot this - he got this on his head, a big pimple, then just wasted away.... this was like a year ago.

He decided he'd rather kill himself than to continue existance in a tank with
blue gravel.

Kidding aside - ditch the blue gravel.

Ok really - no kidding this time - the blue gravel has got to go.

Ok wait - I got a better one.

Its a conspiracy!
Using his amazatronic photoshop skills, Dave took a picture of the fish, added
the pimple and photoshopped in the blue gravel. He undoubtly knew, that
any GWAPA member would immediatly balk at the site of blue gravel and refuse
to come to his house for the meeting this week - all in an effort to hide his failure
to put up the complex lighting rail system thingimadoodle. HA! Gottacha.
Everyone show up at Daves tomorrow.
