GG:
The Feb 04 TFH talks about tankmates for reclusive JD's on page 14. They recommend a school of Tiger barbs, since they will defend themselves... how do barbs do with plants? Isn't there a barb that actually eats algae?
Ticto Barbs go to 4", tigers & green tiger barbs at 2.5, scarlets at 3.0, rosy barbs with that great color & those georgeous fins up to 6"...
Choices, choices!

All barbs have a bit of herivore in them, most of the smaller ones are not an issue in planted tanks. Cherry barbs nibble hair algae, but are not in the running against Amano shrimp and SAEs. Rosy barbs supposedly do also, but are pretty big - I'm not at all sure they would be safe w/fine-leaved stems.<edited><editID>RTRJR</editID><editDate>38052.4551157407</editDate></edited>
