I go to Roberts Oxygen in Glen Burnie. Its $16.00 to have the tanks swapped out.

I prefer Laurel Bottle Gas. They charged about $16.00 for a retest when the hydrotest ran out and they charge the same for a 10 lb. refill while you wait.

Every 5 years or so, the tank has to be tested as not leaking. Called a hydrotest. If it fails, they have to take the tank - the tanks are essentially marked with an expiration date as to when it needs to be retested before being refilled.

It more to see if the tank and handle the pressure. Metal can get weak from the pressure. There is also a burst disk in the valve to keep your tank from exploding this also gets replaced. I think CO2 tanks are good for 3 years

When I was a fire fighter, our air bottles had to be hydro tested every year. When the disk blows it scares the living S*@# out of you! All that pressure in the tank releases in about 4 seconds!

Hydro tests on CO2 tanks are good for 5 years. To be clear, the tank I had tested and filled was a 20#er not a little wannabe 10#er like Aaron has.

Roberts Oxygen wont touch any thing that isn't tested or has exspired.I get my tanks (20lb= $16)filled at Maryland Fire Equipment during the week. I get my 12oz bottle filled at PEVS paintball shop in Rockville they are open until at least 8pm maybe 9. Both places have filled while I wait.
