My tank is a disaster. I will be starting over this weekend. NOt a lot of algae, but nothing else is growing either.

I think I am giving up on the amazonian.

Mine is coming along. I have to get another filter that fits over the rim of the tank in order to place the light properly. I'm using Excel so far.

How many is too many plants species in a 2.5?

I just counted and realized I now have *seven* species in mine! Guess I got a little too excited at the last couple auctions.

Oh well, I cheerfully admit I don't know what I'm doing when it comes to aquascaping. I'm just glad things are growing!

I've got 7 in mine, too. The floating plants are doing great under all that light. My roooted plants are scraping by at best. The glosso is starting to spread. The green algae is having a field day. (No, I didn't count the algae as one of the species).

Be happy with your successes and challenges. I'm still waiting for the supplier of the lights to send me a replacement. I'm holding plants in various tanks with the hope I'll get a start on my "contest" tank before the contest ends!

Michael, do you have any light on your rack that you can just temporarily use over top of your nano? There's nothing saying that you have to wait for the official light, if you have others lying around....

Heh. Sprung a leak in the top seal of my tank this morning after cleaning, guess I hit a corner too hard and the silicone flap I must have knocked loose is siphoning water up into the seal. *sigh*

Kris,

I gave that a thought. The spare four foot light I'm not using while building my river tank just didn't seem to fit. I'll try building something this weekend if replacement doesn't arrive.

You ought to call Catalina, and make sure it arrived, and that they've shipped out your replacement.

You can use a desk lamp and a screw in PC while you wait.
