ok need an explanation on how this is possible.
I don't like em but got them for dirt cheap from an ex that worked for Petsmart so I couldn't pass it up. They don't seem to have any blow by but you are pretty limited on the mechanical filtration with them..
The two I have are both on the 2 smaller tanks and they work ok but I don't recommend them unless you really like fake canisters.

They do a fantastic job on water clarity if you have other coarser particle filters as well to keep from clogging them too fast, but they are too user-unfriendly for me. I have know a few folks who used them constantly and got chronically as clear water as I get after Vortex diatoming. But I am far too lazy for that much upkeep.
Where's the fish? Neptune
They are usually used in a pinch or as a layover until I get a better filter. Since I am debating buying an AGA 50 (36x18 foot print) and a 40 breeder (same foot print again) and DIYing a stand for the both of them, these tanks are holdovers currently.

still doing it but far less. It may be cavitation from the dissolved o2 Im guessing. If that is the case, I wonder what it will look like with Co2 added.RTRJR wrote:Good shot, let us know if it clears the issue. I have not worked with those HOTs much so have no clue as to how sensitive to load they are.

As it is everybody stays out of the output flow from the canister, it would be scary to see what they would do with Co2 foaming as well.
